I'm looking for a BB plinker for my son and not seeing much on the Crosman site to describe the differences between these airguns.
Anyone know of any major differences? Accuracy being the most important. |

As far as budget BB repeater pistols go…
The C11 I ordered was not accurate at all … so I sent it back and exchanged it for a 1088… It’s okay and shoots pellets too.
The one I liked the most in BB was the Beretta Elite II Just get extra clips… |

| I would love to hear the answer- about the only difference in specs between the three is that the C21 seems to have a slightly higher "maximum fps" stated. Is this because it has a different valve setup, or a longer barrel? |

| Don't mind a newb, but I wouldn't go for neither crossman nor gammo when it comes to pistols. I'd stick with walther. It's a simple matter, made in China vs made in Germany. |

| I have a C11, but have not tried either of the others. I love the C11. |

| Even though most of these are Illegal, I have shot a few in Belgium, and in Germany. I've found that several German brand models at around $ 100 were quite well made, and some had real clip magazines where you insert the CO2 cartridge and the pellets. If you get a few of these clips, you're sure to have a ton of fun. |

If you want a simple BB repeating pistol, get an AIRSOFT gun.
I take it your son is between 4 and 7 years and the airsoft gun should be much safer as they are meant to be shot at people.
There are many for about $75-$150 that are co2 powered, semi auto, shoot inexpensive 6mm BBs.
I have a spring powered pistol for shooting on the couch, and it's quite fun. I bought .2gram bbs for it and are much more accurate than .12gram. |

We have a C11 Airsoft here for that purpose, but the trigger pulll is so great for him he can't aim. He is 6 years old. I should try to crack the case open and lighten the spring, it would be a great gun for him.
I was considering giving him a tuned down 300fps 1740. Trying to lighten up the airgun with a shorter barrel.

| I'll warn ya that any of the 22XX are heavy for their size. They are almost all metal. Mine weighs about the same as my buddy's 1911 powder burner |

I have several 22xx airguns here, they are heavy.
I was thinking of converting a 1740 to a carbine for my 6 year old.
The main idea was to add a longer barrel, small forearm and lower the output of the airgun.
Replacing the breech with a short aluminum breech, adding a velocity adjuster and lightening the hammer should keep it functional for the little one.
I think the 1740 would be just long enough for a small forearm.
I was going to cut the forearm and grips out of butternut, to keep things light.

I wouldn't mind seeing that project when it's done- my daughter could use something small-ish and light... |
