Note: My suggestion of posting pictures in the last post is not an issue or problem.
If people want to "judge" an action or activity, the more evidence provided to base such a decision, the better. In case anyone has forgotten, the idea around here is to share information related to airgunning. If the pictures are obscene in some respect, they can always be removed. There's a reason why the main page of this site, and the user agreement state "Must be 18 years old or over" to be a part of the forum.
So- Damage- can you post some pictures for people to see and be better able to judge the real "ethics" involved in this discussion? |

I agree that 'my ethics' are of little consequence in NZ, Canada or even Rome. Sean stated this is a legal hunting method where he is for the game {or nongame} he is taking. That is what I'm going by, as where I am deer can be taken with any caliber larger than .22, but my standards don't apply in NZ nor are the methods the same.
In the upstate, it is legal to hunt swamp boar with knives and dogs. I haven't done that but know of people that do.
Here is my point all the same. A legal hunt is 'bad' to anti hunters.
When I decide a legal hunt is 'bad' then I am in agreement with the anti hunters. That is the problem I see, that a legal hunt is being attacked at all.
If you want to hunt then support legal hunting.
If you want to put condoms on deer, then wouldn't it be better to post on a tree hugger forum? |

Ok look I don't normally go out looking for deer with an Air Rifle but I researched this to make sure I could do it safely and humane.
I set myself goals I do it all the time and I always reach my set goal it was a personal challenge and it was legal here so you cant really argue with that anyway.
This is it I got a clean kill there is only one hole on this deer between the eyes just down a little and to one side, I killed this instant in fact it was less cruel than when I use to shoot them with my bow as they would bleed out before they would die.
I have killed thousands and thousands of sheep by electric shock it just stuns them then they have their throats cut ya see the heart needs to be pumping to get a good bleed, I have also done thousands of pigs this way
and cattle now thats cruel when I use to work in the knocking pen we would shoot a steel bolt through the forehead of them into the brain sometimes they would die and sometimes it could take up to three shots to the brain this could take a bout two mins as we had to reload the bolt gun so is this humane just because it's for the human race No people think it's ok cause they don't know it's the sickest thing to see animals tortured like that before they died but hey what did I care it was good money.
What I did was far more humane than this but yet I still get sh!t from animal lovers the same animal lover that eat meat that comes from the meat works where they torture the crap out of the animal first and they do it this way cause they cant justify paying for a bullet for each one. |

LOL you are bragging about killing that deer!!!! lol
i'lll up you one i killed a fly @ 10 yards with a bugg shooter!!!point of impact, right in between its 200 eyes wanna see pics?
as far as i'm conserned you should never hunt again until you know, and respect your game go a head say that it is not a sport, yet people call badminton and skateboarding one also... so if its a pest why kill it humainly?right you had no respect to kill it with an appropriately powered gun so why would you want to kill it humainly
and you should take 2RCHA's words like law as he knows many times as much as you...
and 23ib0d0n
hunting deer with a .22 short still should not be done but a .22 short puts out a hell of a lot mor power than a .22 air rifle, some shorts can produce... 139fpe or al you would need is an air rifle shooting 1000fps over the speed of sound... your choise... |

Where you are, hunting is 'Going to the gracery store now' while in NZ hunting is an activity that requires more effort than walking down aisle #5 at Walmart. Maybe when you learn the difference you won't post your tree hugger agendas on a hunting forum.

Since 2RCHA has lived and hunted in NZ all his life? You might want to reconsider this 'idea' as well . . .

Look again. I didn't write .22LR, but specifically .22short http://www.22ammo.com/low_v.html Just about the same energy that a .22 CFX puts out. Having your facts straight before you type would be more effective on your part. |

Louder report defeats the purpose of .22 shorts, which you might understand if you had ever looked outside of the 'velocity is king' propaganda that advertisers so love to promote.
Giving me spelling lessons as well? That is almost amusing . . .
What you know of ethics is predigested carefully repackaged misinformation regurgitated from a glowing box without any personal research or insight.
Unless you have gone so far as to study metaphysics and have read such documents as the Magna Carta and understand the implications of the history involved, then who are you to dictate how your {mis}perception of 'legal or ethical' is better than everyone elses?
I didn't indicate that you are retarded {slow} but that you are biased against a hunter that took an animal in a legal hunt because it doesn't fit the 'type' of hunting in your section of the world.
That is an antihunter sentiment and better suited to a tree hugger forum.
I'm glad you like to hunt in Canada, I have friends that enjoy hunting there also. I prefer hunting where it is warmer myself, but again that is only my preferance. The main difference I see is that I condone and applaud a successful legal hunt while others seem to feel that because it isn't 'thier prefered way' it ought to be banned. Anti hunters want to ban legal hunting.
Which do you want to be? Pro hunter, or anti hunting? |

alright guys lets try and keep this civil. just because one persons form of hunting doesnt mesh with your morals doesnt make it wrong. laws are made because they exceed the minimum. i have no doubt that i could take a whitetail at the 10 - 15 yard distances i often witness then BUT the law says nothing under .270.
and for the record outdoorsman i worked for a couple years at a slaughter house and we bolt cattle as well. different part of the world? im from ontario .
take care

I have deleted a few responses here that were both unproductive, uncalled for, and made assumptions about other people that were not based in any sort of fact; i.e. "redneck", "he/she knows more than you", "you don't know anything about..." etc.
Comments like these are merely misdirections and insults- not the progression of a logical argument. That sort of sh!t I will eliminate, guaranteed. If someone thinks contributing to a discussion means throwing out insults and references to others lack of expertise or familiarity with something (for which they have no way of knowing if this is true)- they are wrong. |

| Which one ??? On the gun is a Light Force spot light made in Australia but sold in many parts of the world made for mounting on scopes so it's very light they were also made with springers in mind so can handle recoil from them. |

The one on the gun. What is the range of it? The
one that I'm using now is only good out to 55-65 yards.
I need one that can reach out further.

The one I use would reach 2 or 3 football fields, Maybe further put it this way it will light up a further distance than any of my air rifles will shoot.
Cost me about $175.00 NZ batteries are around $25.00 to $30.00 each one lasts up to two hours if left on I use two and they last me bout 10 hours of shooting cause I don't leave them on all the time, And then theres the carry bag for the batteries which is about $25.00 they are 12V batteries and a little heavy but well worth every penny. |
