I took delivery of my first regulated PCP this week a Barra 1100z. $275 for a regulated PCP, we live in a wonderful time.
As expected it started leaking out the barrel about 30 shots in. No way was I going to deal with the hassle of a return so back home and onto the bench. It ended up being a piece of flash from the exhaust valve caught between the sealing surfaces. I chucked the valve up in the lathe and smoothed out the imprint the stray piece of plastic left in the face of the valve, it holds air again.
Back to the range with a selection of pellets. CPHP for seasoning the barrel, hoping it would like the cheap pellets, no such luck. I was getting frustrated with the crappy groups, 2+ inches at 25 yards with everything I put down the barrel. Then I tried the JSB Hades and everything tightened up. 10 shots into a dime sized group at 25 yards. I pushed it out to 50 yards and got groups at just over 1". I'm looking forward to seeing what it will do when it is truly broken in.
