I have custom grips for it also. The gun shoots so well, I can't believe what a great bargain this gun is! I absolutely can say nothing bad about it. It can be on the heavy side for some, but that can be overcome with conditioning. It is built like a brick and almost nothing needs to be replaced on it. It is a great gun to own! So I can't really speak about the stock grips much. But I do know some people will "retool" their stock grips, which is apparently very easy to do! Yes, this gun is heavier then some. Some call it "nose heavy", I find the more I shoot it, the more I don't mind the weight. But it is heavier then some, if you look at its weight versus others, it will become obvious. Still though, it is such a good "next step up" gun. But if you have $700-$1200, then I would probably look for a used, higher end gun. But then you will enter the world of PCP, which will inevitably cost more yet! I have it for around 4 months now but shoots great right out of the box. Its little muzzle heavy and the grips are not that good initially however you can order custom grips but that will cost extra bucks. At $300+, it is pricey for my budget, but I could not resist buying a target gun that is actually competitive at 10M while the next step seems to be closer to the $1K range. Now I'll just have to figure out how to hide the CC charge from the wifey. If I can do that, then I can always say, "Oh that's Joe's. You know. From the range. I will have to get out the Dremel and sand paper and have at the tree stump they call a grip. The thing was also filthy! Grease everywhere. Took a lot of cleaning. It will also take some getting used to. It handles and shoots very differently from my Crosmans and Benjamins. But wow, that trigger is sweeeeeeeeet! Eric, if for nothing else, get one for the trigger. well mine was not that greasy out of the box but yes.. i did thought "boy thats huge" when i first saw it hehe . so how does it shoot ? and yes the grip is too bulky.. have to sand paper it a little bit. I just purchased one recently and aside from my limited experience with air target pistols, find it to be pretty nice. You won't find any better at this price. It does not have all the bells and whistles of the more expensive, refined pistols, but would be excellent for one who does not expect to top notch compete, but wants a nice target air pistol. Comes packaged in a nice sealed box that is also sealed in plastic. You know it ain't been messed with. Has a test target and the inspectors certificate. Also comes with extra seals, cleaning rod, and multi screwdriver tool. Extra front and rear sight for I believe 12 different sight combos. I have not been able to shoot any real quality pellets yet but it will shoot what i have better than i can shoot. It is a hammer forged and choked barrel. It is accurate. It can hit whatever you can hold, fliers aside. I expect no premature problems with seals as has been reported. That may have been more operator error or just a bad lot. The grip was intended to have excess so as to be shaped for each individual. I don't have any problems with it the way it is but will probably fit later. All in all, I think it is a great buy. Its very popular with a lot or shooting organizations and would be an easy sell if you didn't like it. Hope this helps ya! Oh! BTW. heres a link with a nice zoom picture. This is the 46 but is identical to the 46M other than the M has a longer cylinder. Makes the M look like its got a shorter barrel. This screw was seized. I've run around 2,500 pellets through it and then it just quit firing. It would make a sound like you were dry firing it. With an empty barrel, it would make a weak pop. So referring to http://www.airguninfo.com/46index.shtml, and their link(s) I proceeded to replace the main seal. The problem wasn't the seal at all. The compression chamber was full of Russian machine grease and black fragments - metal filings from machining or bits of seal - I couldn't tell. The piston and seal were also covered in the thick, crusty, dried-out grease. Wiped it all up with paper towels, an oiled rag, and put some Pellgun oil on the seal. Presto! The thing shoots again. A word of caution; be very careful when disassembling your IZZY and look closely at how it was assembled. It is not intuitive how the thing goes together. Anyway, I have my IZZY back!
