Wll Guy's after seeing BroomMaster's 2250 Custom,I dug out my "1972" 2250 Carbine/Pistol thats been in storage for most of its life.I never really liked CO2 guns because of there weak performance. But since the advent of computers and web sights like AirGunHome and all the others with a wealth of information on how to make things better in the Air Gun World. I decided to give the old under powered gas gun a shot at a new lease on life.A few tips via Crosman forum on what I needed to do to this old timer to get it off its a$$ and shoot with some authority I proceeded to tear it apart and do the necessary modifications to take it above 600 FPS in .22 cal. These incluced valve porting, hammer spring, and transfer port. I already had the 14" barrel and sholder stock but kept it as a pistol for most of its life. When I dug out the old stock and carbine barrel it was in sad shape, painted flat black with nicks and scratches in a few places.A total refinish was in order .All seals and o-rings have been replaced whether it needed them or not.And a new Muzzle break was spun on a lathe /no LDC yet I am still messing with that in spare time.I also added a Quest butt pad, cheap bipod and the original 4X15 Crosman scope.I have yet to shoot it as the temps outside will kill a CO2 gun.
But it is finished and ready to Rock&Roll.
I am thinking of ordering a 2260 24" barrel for it I think there only about $20 dollars. But for now I'll shoot it the way it is.If someone has that part # for the 2260 barrel on hand I could use it.

Good Shooting

You've made a neat job of the 1250 Bob, I like the the muzzle break but I'm not sure about the laser, I had one like that and it pointed in a diffrent direction every time I fired the gun, so I junked it in the end.

Nice job. Thumb Up!

Al

Broom you gave me the inspiration to do something with the oldy,I am sure it will be alot of fun and I remember it as being a real tack driver.
Al yea about the laser,I'll give it a try and see what happens. On the CO2 it mght stay in place because there is no recoil. What the hay they were on sale at WallyWorld for $19.99 I couldn't pass one up for that money.Someone told me if you superglue the adjustment screws after sighting it in it will stay put.
At any rate I'll try it.I also have the pressure switch I may add if things work out with it.

Have a Nice weekend!!

I decided that I want to mod mine into a .177. Do .177 barrels just fit right into that breech?

BROOM,
Any of the 22xx barrels will work.I plan on ordering a 2260 barrel for mine! Thats a 24" barrel and only cost about $20.00 + $4.00 shipping.or less from Crosman. I posted on the Crosman forum for a part number.Monday I'll put the order in if I get a part number.

BBGun Bob.
Broom heres a link to barrels scroll down to barrel replacement
http://www.network54.com/Realm/adminhtml/FAQ.html

If you need help in getting one let me know I'll order it for you like I did 22magnum's Daisy25 barrel then ship it to you.I shipped his to Canada from USA,no problem. It just takes time, the last order from Crosman took 3 1/2 weeks!! to arrive here.

The 2260 24" barrel number is 2260-003- should be less than $20

To convert to a .177 you need the barrel from a 1760, and a bolt from the same (or a 1377 steel breech kit which comes with the steel breech and a bolt for it). Part # on the 1377 steel breech kit is: 1377SBPK and should be around $30, the 1760 barrel is 1760-001 and would be a bit under $20 as well, the 1760 bolt is # 1760-003 and should be around $5.

Good luck and keep us up to date on your progress!

BBgunbob,

How does the laser mounted out on the end of
the barrel like that affect accuracy?

I ask this because I used to have a tuned R11 that had an
adjustable weight attached in a similar position as your laser
on the barrel that if adjusted to just the right position would
tighten up it's groupings considerably. Have you experimented
with it fastened it at different postions on the barrel and if
so. Did it make any difference?

As of about a little more then a week ago it was $9.33. It should be close to that but crosman changes the prices all the time. Depending on what they have in the parts department the price changes.

Shoot thats cheap enough HUH??

Tell me again why you had to wait for the Crosman forum to give you an answer?
