has anyone done the heat shrink thing on their rear guides? What is, was or are your results?

Also any other sit ideas that ended up working for you and your springers?

I just recently put in an aluminum soda can sleeve in my piston and I is nice so far

The aluminum sleeve is not a great idea- if it shifts/gets kinked you will have a whole lot of bent up junk clogging the rifle and potentially scratching things. Stick with replacing seals, honing the tube and lubing properly- and if you have a space issue with the spring (i.e. it is a bit loose front-back, shim it slightly. The heatshrink on the guide may cut down on some noise if the spring/guide fit is not great, and shouldn't damage anything if/when it rips apart.

Another way to go about tightening up the spring is in its relation to the inside of the piston, if it seems there is a lot of space between the spring and the piston wall a liner can be made from a durable plastic like from a large pop bottle. It will require some precise fitting to help the liner stay in place but if your spring is rattling after shooting you will notice the difference when its installed. Just make sure that there still is space left because the spring diameter increases when its compressed.
