I aquired a beeman R1 in .177 older with goudy stock.metal n wood is nice.but was abused.it had the barrel let go of when cocking and was left setting cocked for 2 years.spring is loose.i just got the barrel straight and shot it several times and a few adjustments n its up 4 clicks from bottom of sight adjustment range, happy with that and centered too.its probably shooting 400 fps.new spring on the way.to see how much its been shot, where the guide wears blue off the end cap inside, its still got all the blue in it.piston seal is still white and not stained id say lucky to have shot 50pellets.i got it for my stoeger x5 and a $20. Bill, look at what new R1'$ sell for.this 1 has factory swivels too .must be pretty early year too serial number is 909663

Sounds like a deal (of sorts). New spring should sort it out.

I am waitin for that spring, wanted an R1 for years.got a bsa essential scope n a good mount layin here on the bench waitin to ride on its back.
I had to make 5 passes to get the barrel straight, but i go slow.easier to go slow and stop when right

Well its all done, polished and rounded spring ends, used english tar lightly on spring ends, used a lower power spring, topped it off with a bsa essential scope.first shot went smooth and i immedietly realized i did the right thing with the lighter spring.easy cocking and absolutly no twang or buzz, dead calm shot cycle and then i adjusted trigger down to about 2 pounds pull.shooting 880 fps with cphp, after 50 or so pellets later it was up to 895 fps average.accurate and easy to cock.i slayed 6 starlings with head shots.she has new life,a welcome addition to my airgun family.
Took inventory dang seems like they are reproducing last winter.7 pellet pistols and 18 rifles, then i looked and 12 powder burner pistols and 18 rifles and 10 shotguns.
