I have a air pistol project that needs a smoothbore .177 bb barrel. About 5.5 inches will do. Are there any sources that sell barrels alone? I know of the Crosman rifled pellet barrels, but that is not what I want.

See if you can buy a Daisy 880 barrel. They are smooth bore.

Might also check the Crosman 760.

Hey Bob, you read my mind. I was searching ebay and found somebody selling Daisy 880 barrels. I just ordered one. It will fit my need. I can get at least two pistol barrels off it. Thanks.

Surething Pete, here is the link. The barrel is rifled, but bbs roll easy through it like a smoothbore. This guy also has Crosman 760 barrels.

Interesting. I wonder if he is actually selling 881 barrels. Supposedly (per Daisy) the 880 is not rifled and the 881 is rifled.

Here is the project I needed the Daisy 880 barrel for. It was to replace a bulged barrel in my Umarex Colt SAA bb pistol. In case you are wondering how the barrel got bulged, I think it was made from too thin tube. The new barrel is thicker walled and works better.

WOW! How did you manage that?

The original barrel is too thin walled in my opinion. I was practicing fast draw and fanning the revolver for a long shooting session. Fired about 400 bbs through the pistol. Then I noticed the pistol jamming and bbs were not coming out. Took the gun apart to find the barrel bulged like that. I wrote to Umarex about the problem, and they wanted me to send it in for examination. I figured, it was easy to make my own new barrel for the gun. I just had to find the barrel. The Daisy 880 barrel has a very slight rifling, almost not visible, and since bbs roll through it easy, it could pass for a smoothbore.
