First off, I hope you didn't suffer injury or too much damage. We had a hail storm last September that made a big mess. We were at a wedding dance when it happened, and the electric power was out for a long time. I hope that lady sitting next to me was my wife, but it's hard to tell in the dark.
Second, that's excellent shooting, considering the range.
Like Alstone said, it's food for thought. I have seen videos of 10m competition ranges using video links and computerized scoring off the video feed.
It comes to me that the box doesn't have to be all polycarbonate. It could be wood with a polycarbonate window. I have purchased small scraps from the local glass repair shop before for cheap.
The advantage of this system at long ranges is obvious, but I'm thinking in the other direction. A .177 hole at 10m is also pretty hard to see without a scope, and this would be a solution. At 10m a direct cable might be possible. Or maybe a WiFi connection to a cell phone or computer. The gears in my head are turning.
As always, excellent work and lots of creativity. Thanks for your efforts. |
