So, what have some of you guys done to setup a scope cam? I don't mean an action cam or a goslow strapped to the side of your scope, but a real time through the scope setup. I am curious about Yankee engenuity and shade tree solutions.

(That would be ghetto fer wut youse-all dut wernt'nt razed in duh cuntry.)

I'ld love to see some pics of what you have done from simple and elegant to totally outrageous missuses of a bandaid and bailing wire.

I have used a small Canon IXUS camera mounted between me and the scope eye piece, the camera takes the video and I sight using the camera screen. Sorry I have no photos but next time I set up I’ll get some.

Al

There is a company, whose name I forget at the moment, that had a mount made up to place over the scope ocular lens and attach to a mobile phone to use as a camera.

-it was a bit pricey as I recall- over $100.00- which most people found ridiculous for what was little more than a plastic mount.

Shovel74 called me this morning with his own idea for a scope cam mount. It was very similar to an idea I was thinking of, but he expressed it so well by the time I got off the phone with him I had it half drawn up. We agreed we would share the basic idea incase anybody wanted to make their own. I don't want to make them for sale. For me to machine them would cost a lot more than some of the mounts already on the market, but I think I'll make or two of them for my own use to try out. Shovel74 made some noise that he might have me make him one anyway even though I can't do it anywhere near as cheap as a Barska or an Orion.

Anyway, here is the picture.
