AirGunHome will be offline for 2-3 hours on Saturday (February 9, 2008) starting around Noon (EST, GMT -5).
The current hosting company will be updating something, and I assume sorting out some issues with bogging here and there. They sent me a note today to let me know (which is wonderful, last 2 hosts AGH was on previously wouldn't dream of doing this, beforehand) and mentioned that website content and database accesses may not stay coordinated properly during this time period.
"What does that mean", you ask; it means that while the forum would still be accessible during most of that timeframe, any posts put up might get lost in the shuffle and other random mis-placements of things could occur.
So, to be safe rather than sorry- the forum will be deactivated for that 2-3 hour time period to ensure our data doesn't get corrupted and cause a pile of issues.
The website itself (airgunhome.com) and its online resources should still be available in that time period. |

I don’t know whether it’s coincidence but things seem to have speeded up on this site since it was down on Sunday, over the last couple of months it has been getting very slow, and sometimes I could not even get a page to reload. Maybe that it was just a problem this side of the water, but whatever it certainly is a lot faster.

That's good to hear- I hope things have improved. Things were locking up here and there, generally, not just on the other side of the ocean. The only plus to the situation was that there have been no significant outages and no data corruption (just the annoying time-outs) like we had more than once with the previous providers... |
