nice pics there CW and a beautiful gun too. I was wondering do you use CO2 or compressed air ? coz looking at the snow (low temps), CO2 will have its own issues correct?
by the way where are you located in WA ? |

I charge it with pure air or nitrogen. I've never
had any experience with CO2, but have heard about
the pressue varying with temperature. It just wouldn't
work where I'm at. The weather here has been in the
low teens. With air at this temp, I have not noticed any
difference in how it shoots. It shoots the same as it
did in the 105 degree summer.

Ohh ok .. air or nitrogen is a good choise, variance in the shots will be only in case of CO2.
Happy shooting. |

| Ive seen some nitrogen rifles before. Or what was left of them. Exploded in the face of their users. |

That's funny. Actually breathing air is almost all nitrogen
with around 20 percent oxygen.
Nitrogen is completely inert. It will not burn and in fact
will extinguish a fire. It will not blow your gun up (well, maybe
if you overfilled your gun). You're thinking of pure oxygen.
I use pure nitrogen in my Condor and Quackenbush all the
time without any problems.

Then what is that stuff that blows up airguns? |

Oxygen has done it before. I also read about someone using propane
and it blew their gun apart.

Ah, right, Oxygen. That's the stuff.
Me's mixing up things, silly me. It's late and I should go to sleep.
Goodnight!
(By the way, I am sure I've seen smaller silencers for those rifles...) |

When you turn it up past 55 fpe you need volume.
The smaller ones just don't cut it above 55-60 fpe.

That is not apparently as rare an occurrence as we'd like to hope- more than one genius has used propane, and heat generated during the firing cycle causes a nice ignition effect. The ones I've heard about were people building amateurish home-made "airguns" out of copper pipe and such- then deciding propane was as good a propellant to use as anything... |

The danger with nitrogen is it usually comes in 6K cylinders, like from a welding supply, crank the valve alot and your gonna put a hurtin on something, anyway before I get jumped it`s ok as long as your vigilante about what your doin,I have another aquaintence in Wash. state that shoots nitrogen also, helium can also be used, with a significant rise in fps`s.,because it`s lighter than air.Barry |

Yes, I've heard that about helium. Helium is also a lot
thinner and flows through valves and orifices easier and
quicker than air so that that would most likely produce
higher velocitys.
