Other than the Air Force, the Talon etc., are there any other rear tank pcp gun makers out there. I like the idea of having the tank in the stock rather than under the barrel. Question

FX has some models with rear attached air bottles and some with bottles forward and in the rear.

You can add Evanix to the list, Although a little on the expensive side, these are some really nice air guns.

One of the issues with a rear-tank setup is positioning the rifle. For example, the AirForce products can be a bit of a pain- the tank becomes like an overly-wide stock. While I own a Condor and like the way it shoots, the first thing I would change would be the tank situation/location.

It is now my favorite gun
The idea when I started the project was a gun that would easily breakdown and fit in a brief case be accurate up to the uk limit of 12 feet pounds and have 60 plus shots also I wanted light and compact, so easy to wander round the farm with
So after a lot of work and experimentation I am very happy
The gun is very accurate I get over 115 shots and a very straight power curve
So all worked out well

I see what you mean about a bit pricey.

Problem with that design is that it requires the tank to be re-configured, so if someone has multiple tanks, they would need an adapter for each.

Agreed, but from all who have tried one in search of better eye alignment, and ergonomics, have raved over them. I personally agree with you, but I built the equivalent of a Mad Dog stock for one of mine so it shoulders on the stock, rather than the tank, and give me the proper alignment I need, and allows me to swap tanks, as I have one with a modded and tuned Talon valve, and another with a custom R&L Condor valve. I guess it just boils down to what one prefers. I personally like my kinda ugly stock, not nearly as pretty as the Mad Dog, but only cost me about 12 hours or work. This was the first time I ever tried to make a stock, so I'm sure it would be much less time next go round. Learned quite a bit, and I'm happy with the results. I will say I think mine needs an adjustable but pad added just for that little bit extra, and it might even look better. You might want to at least look at the Mad Dog stocks, as they allow you to still swap tanks, but if you get one of the full length ones it kinda defeats the take down aspect of the rifle. Kinda nice to have a "Talon SS" that also has a full blown custom Condor valved tank, the Modded Talon valved tank, and a Talon tunes tuned Talon valved tank. The last one generally stays on the other SS as it is currently setup for 10M target shooting, I just have to keep count of my shots so I know when to adjust my hold slightly. I had to install a lighter hammer, and detune that setup to get it to shoot below super sonic. Even with 8 grain H&N target pellets it was slinging them over 1150 fps form a 12" barrel. The Hammer gun with the R&L Condor valve in 25 is a monster, first few runs over the Chrony and had to turn it down to get in the 950-980 range. They are wicked fun, for those of us who love to tinker. You can have anything you want and swap from one caliber to another in just minutes.

Sorry for the long rant, I just spent a good chink of coin on those and really appreciate what I can do with them. I do love my 25 M-Rod, but it's a monster air hog.
