how often will i need to replace the breech seal?, i called beeman and they said that the spring and piston seal will need replacement before the breech seal will. the guy said as long as i keep bad solvents away from it and keep silicone on it from time to time, it will last for thousands of shots. but i wanted to ask here as i just think it would need replaced from time to time. but i don't know anything about these new guns, the gun is a beeman sportsman series rs2 wolverine rifle. thanks

also are these just regular o-rings?, my hardware store has all sizes of o-rings if they are and they are cheap. the silicone style is a little higher but cheaper than online. thanks

Unfortunately we all get ripped off on these tiny plastic or rubber seals that are so vital to the airgun. I'm not sure about the breech seal in your airgun being of a standard size that you can buy at hardware stores, but there are few choices in selecting the rubber it is made of. Maybe Buna or Viton will be better than others. HW seals go for as much as $12/piece.

I've got a crosman that is 12 years old that still has the original breech seal in it. Just relax and enjoy your gun Boomer. You worry too much.

yea i know, its been so long since i was shooting these things. i am shooting better today tho, i decided to concentrate on the hold, trigger control and follow thru. at 20yds i fired a 5 shot group that i could almost cover with a quarter, just a tiny edge of one shot could be seen. the crosman pellets seem to be pretty good, i'll know tomorrow as i scope it and move farther back. thanks
