i have been reading around and was wondering about if i need to get this and what it could be used for? i have a beeman wolverine sportsman rs2 22 caliber air rifle, i have read that where the spring is would be good as to keep it as slick as possible, also the seals would seal better if silicone was applied. this stuff that i found is really slippery, not real thick but not thin either and its food grade rated, what do ya'll think and what do ya'll use and recommend? thanks

AFAIK, silicone isn't great for metal on metal....

There are silicone chamber oil and silicone spring oil . The chamber oil is a necessity. The spring oil may not be needed as Beeman has told you the spring need not be greased ever, unless you replace the spring.
I hope you are not tempted to buy that big bottle of silicone oil used by Radio Controlled modelists. It is too thin.

the silicone i was gonna get is at my local hardware store. it says on the bottle pure food grade rated silicone. for reducing friction and lubrication on metal and plastic surfaces and preserving plastic and rubber parts. thanks

I wouldn't trust anyhing but RMC oil from pyramydair.com. It's also known as chamber oil. I know it has the right consistency and anti-dieseling formulation.
