we my beeman wolverine sights won't stay set, the little turning nob is supped to click but turns freely. so i was offered my money back and i took it and will be getting a daisy 880 and lots of pellets with money to spare. will the 880 take rabbits and squirrel within 20-25yds?, thanks.

Not even close. You should have kept the wolverine and put a scope on it and forgot about the iron sights. I'm kinda pissed right now because you have been wasting everybody's time. You go from a decent rifle to a plastic piece of junk and then you wonder if you can hunt with it? Of course you can't hunt with it! It's got a max speed of maybe 550 fps real world and you traded that for a real hunting rifle just because you didn't like the sight. That's what being an airgunner is! Tinkering and playing with it until you've got something that's uniquely yours and you know how to work on. The sight was probably an easy fix, but you didn't even try. You just boxed it up and sent it back. I don't know who you are getting your advice from but they are idiots. Springs don't wear out for YEARS. Neither do seals. You had a rifle that was well enough built that you could have probably passed down to your kids. Now you have a plastic toy that is good for nothing more than knocking pop cans over. My target pistol, which is a 2300 in.22 has more power than that 880. This is a real hunting gun. I use it in barns to kill birds and rats without punching holes in the roofs.

As you can see this is my PERSONAL crosman. I have over 200 in it. And I can out-hunt you all day with it. It has thousands and thousands of rounds thru it, and the only thing I have to do is wipe it down with a good oil once in a while. Wanna know why I have over 200 in it? QUALITY. I have guns with a lot more in them, but this was the first one I grabbed.

See you didn't ask advice on here which anyone would have told you that was a bad deal, you listened to someone who probably thinks daisy is top of the line. You made a big mistake and I'm not helping you anymore. I've been doing this for over 20 years and I could have probably told you how to fix the sight, but no more. I'm done. I'm not helping you anymore.

Putting aside Todd's, umm, whatever- the Daisy isn't much of a "hunter" in any respect. Excluding the Daisy higher-powered break barrel rifles (i.e. the "Winchester" branded products at 1000fps), Daisy's are either entry-level match products (i.e. the Avanti-labeled items) or "toys"- not useful for hunting at all.

I was not throwing a tantrum. I answered every question you had even when nobody else would. If you are not a tinkerer Don't bother with airguns because you won't get Anywhere! Matter of fact where I buy my ammo .22 and .177 is the same price. Walmart has all kinds of nice rifles for under 150 that are break barrel, and I don't consider anything but a benjamin pump up worthy of hunting unless extensively modified.If you want to play with toys, go for it, but don't torture some helpless animal with an 880.

I think the gamo big cat in .22 is under 150. The crosman Titan used to be, not sure if it still is or not. The Titan is slick though. Any of the NP guns are good. I know beeman makes a good hunting gun, I've got one in .22. THe nitro venom dusk is a good one if it compares to the venom. Supposed to be the same thing in a synthetic stock. You are talking entry level guns right? SOmething good to hunt with, but not Top of the line? All these are good ones. Any crosman breakbarrel will hold up. Just make sure you get at least 800 fps. That's about hunting limit. Most of the ones I menstioned are 1000 fps except for the titan and that's cause it's a .22.

Perfect for ya at the cheapest price I could find it. It's a relatively tinker free gun, and walmart is the cheapest on them. THey also have free ship to store, which will save you money over Pyramydair.

The gun weight is 7.6 lbs. Don't go by the shipping weight.

My 2 cents;
Break barrel air guns take some skill to shoot, some time is needed to learn the proper hold and shooting technique. If you want something easy to shoot I would recommend a Benjamin 392 at around $160 it is in your price range and will last for years. They are a bit tricky to mount a scope on but it can be done.
If you don't mind spending some time learning to deal with the double recoil of a springer then by all means go for it. I have read way to many posts from new air gunners who get frustrated and give up because they couldn't hit what they were aiming at with a springer....

Also Since you use so many bicycle parts in your guns maybe they want to be pedaled instead of shot. lol Air guns DON"T have a kick starter. lol
