I recently bought a beeman wolverine in 22 caliber, I am on a tight budget and decided on this. I will be sighting it in soon with open sights then I will mount the scope and sight it in. I was told by friends that I need to get a repair kit of seals and spring as the gun will need them soon. I figure i will shoot 500rds to be sure the gun is broken in, then it will only be shot when hunting. I figure give or take 100 shots that the gun will see less than 300 shots a year. do I need a repair kit?, if so where is the cheapest place to get it? THANKS

Please post things with some regard to proper capitalization and paragraphs. A giant "splat" of writing on the page is likely to disincline people from reading your post. You might want to consider revising into a format that is more user friendly.

Also, please don't post the same question in multiple posts- i.e. spring lubing.

I received the gun today, its not bad but not quite what I thought. The workmanship is good, but the thing does have recoil, the gun is very accurate. I can bust small apples at 25yds. its just heavier and more recoil than expected. Of course to be fair with the gun, this is the first spring piston gun i have owned. I'm 46 and haven't owned a pellet gun in 30yrs, also do i need to oil the spring? I know the manual says not to oil the piston or seals but i can see the spring down thru the stock and it looks like its got grease on it. Sorry for so many questions but i don't know anything about these new guns. The gun also smokes a lot, it also has rust toward the end of the barrel, whats the best way to get the rust out? thanks.

Sounds like you bought a used gun. There are spring oils that you can buy and apply to the spring without taking the gun apart. Look up the airgun parts and accessories sources on the web.
I usually use a brass bore brush to work off small areas of surface rust on my guns.

i've tried all day and the rust won't budge, looks like my small game season is over before it starts. i got the gun at fingerhut as i didn't have the money up front, they will take it back but that leaves me without a gun. guess i'll save and buy one at a store next year, i should be able to save about $150 by then. thanks

Get you some G-96 gun lube and a brass brush. if you can bust apples with it it isn't that bad. Be careful and work slowly.

It could be the chinese grease they put in there, if it is, its stuck in there good, I guess I should have cleaned it before I shot it. I called and I am sending it back tomorrow and they will send another. I will be sure I clean this next one. airguns sure have changed in 30yrs, i've got a lot to learn. thanks
