Thank you, Alstone.
I've got quite a few firearms but as I said, I'm a relatively unsophisticated air gunner. I got into it because the current ammo situation (particularly .22LR) has kept me from my regular visits to the range. Like most, I guess, I started out with some relatively inexpensive pellet rifles that I purchased off the Amazon website. I have a Gamo Silent Cat (which it isn't...silent) and a Beeman RS2 in .177 caliber.
Like I said, the Silent Cat isn't silent and that rules out shooting in my backyard. Other than that, I like it a lot.
The Beeman RS2 has a sloppy and heavy trigger. I'd guess 8 to 9 pound pull. I guess there is a way to tune that but at this point I'm not prepared to tear into a major overhaul of a brand new air rifle.
I'm learning and will likely move up to a better quality air rifle in the near future. I know there are $2,000 air guns available and they are of the finest quality. However, I'm not ready to spend much more than $300.00. Can a get a fairly good quality for that kind of money?
Thank you. I'm new to the site but I've already picked up a lot from just nosing around. |

It does appear that a lot of powder burner shooters are turning to airguns because of the cost of shells, which can’t be a bad thing for air gunning. As for the “Silent Cat” there’s not much you can do about that considering the US law’s on silencers, but the Beeman trigger should be sort able with a good polish etc.
