I've seen a plastic toy looking gun on the internet that shoots a small spray of salt at insects to kill them. You load a bit of table salt in the top, cock it and blast flies etc.
I have a few really cheap kids BB guns at home which just sit getting rusty. Some still pump air some don't. I was thinking of getting one of those broken ones to work again to be used as an insect killing salt gun.
Since I really don't care about the gun itself, I was wondering if anyone has ever tried pouring something like 1/8 tea spoon of salt down a barrel with closed breach to blast bugs?
Might be fun if it works. |

I don't use salt.
Have a co2 bb pistol that my wife uses in place of a fly swatter...just co2, no bb's. Blasts flys into pieces and does not leave a bloody mess on the windows or walls to clean up...just the fly parts on the floor, which are easily cleaned up with a dust buster. 
The Alecto and P17 also get the job done.
Can also skip the fun part (but WHY?) and suck 'em up with the dust buster.
