Well gang, I might as well get on the "100" bandwagon! : )

I finally got my new AirForce Talon up and running! VERY cool and VERY fun, but my first time shooting with a scope and it was quite a new experience! Usually I'm an open sights, pistol guy.

I almost shot a 110, but choked at the end! Ahhhh!

Stats are:

Score: 100/120
Gun: AirForce Talon, caliber .22
Pellet: RWS Match
Distance: 10 meters
Stance: Standing, indoors
Sights: Scope
Time: 6 mins.

Thanks to all!

Yeah, I THINK that it is shooting around 600 fps or maybe a bit more, but wow what a difference! Plus the .22 makes a nice hole and if you think about it, it gives you a bit more of an edge on those "close" shots, because the pellet is actually bigger.

I think this gun will actually do 1000 fps for like 40 shots before it needs a recharge.

The "recharge" is another story all together! I have an air pump, and I lift weights regularly. And it's a good thing! Cause it's hard! My 120 pound wife can't even push the pump handle down when the pressure gets high! It takes 300-400 pumps to get my tank to 3000psi, but then I can get about 200 shots.

Pretty cool!

Shootout between 100 point shooters - johnlochey, Woody61, Ralphy, Mar & BCSteel. {Did I miss anybody?}

Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.

3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
4) Any sighting device may be used.
5) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
6) 8 shots at the target, 1 per silhouette maximum.
5 sighting/practice shots not on the clock using red dot on the target.
7) 5 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 5 minutes-stop!).
8) Scoring is 10 point for green, 5 points for gold, 2 points for blue, 1 point for black and no points for white.
Touching the edge of a colour counts for points. Only two hits per sil counts. Maximum point count is 44.

10) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries- but all rules must be followed for each.

DW36,

Hey, how do you like your K58? I shoot an IZZY 46m, but have often thought about the K58 as a nice step up.

With that gun you cock it once and the handle detaches right?

Is it pretty reliable, etc?

Could you compare it to any other pistols in it's class? Kind of for reference?

Thanks! Mr. Green

The K58 shoots better than I can. A little over 600 shots. So far it has been very reliable. Its probable not broke in yet.

I think you must be thinking about the FWB 103 with the removable handle. The K 58 handle is not removable.
The quality is excllent. I have nothing to compare it to Some years back I was shooting a FWB 65. Single stroke but with a little recoil.
Bang for the buck, I like it.

OK, this initially looked better then it was, but I'll take it. I was in a big hurry to do this, so here it is.

Sidenote: I was unsure if we had to submit by this Tuesday (22nd) or next Tuesday, hence my hurry. : )

Stats:

Gun: IZZY 46m
Stance: Standing, One hand
Distance: 5 meters
Score: 27/44
Pellet: RWS Match
Time: 3 mins.

Thanks to all!

OK- in the process of updating the main competition page, it was determined that Ralphy wins the Shoot-Out.

http://www.airgunhome.com/pages/shootcomp.html

Why? johnlochey used his Talon to get the 100 points on the main shoot, but then used the Baikal IZH-46M for the Shootout. Use the same gun for both, dangit!
