OK as some you know from another post of mine, I'm thinking of taking up shooting rats.

I'm looking at a few rifles, including the QB78. Would this scope be good for this rifle?

It seems to be a nice scope for the price, but I'm not expert on these things.

I have no experience with that scope...it looks great, and the variable power would be a big plus for ratting I think. It's just about more expensive than the rifle it would go onto though. I think Ideally for rats, a night vision scope would be perfect, but $$$$ and you can put red filtered lights over the bait area and get away with less scope than that one. Maybe a Leapers?

Not by much. I've seen the rifle online for about ~$80 to $100 and that's stock.

You're not kidding. I nearly had a heart attack after seeing the prices on those things.

It sounds like it should be fine based on the specifications, but unless someone has experience with that exact model- no way to know if it's one of the dogs or a solid performer.

Well the reviews I've read(w/ grain of salt) at http://www.pyramydair.com/ were all good. I'll try to find some full reviews elsewhere before buying however.

THis scope is the one I have on my 2400 custom and I love it. It's good and accurate plus the price is unbeatable right now.

PS you have to get different scope rings because they are weaver.

Funny- look at this thread: http://www.airgunhome.com/agforum/viewtopic.php?t=9114

The concensus on that scope, from anyone who has ever said anything about it, seems to be an absolute positive. Leapers got alot of people in airguns onto their products by labeling almost everything they produced 'airgun compatible' - leading people to believe they were something different- but it seems CenterPoint has been producing a couple of super scopes at very reasonable prices the last couple years...
