Ok I ordered a 16" barrel from Crosman and what I got was a 24". Which is fine I can either leave it 24" or cut it down

But what I don't like is the flat that is cut in on the topside of the barrel about 6 inches up from the port end.

I can't figure what barrel they sent me or from what Crosman gun it comes from any ideas??????

Disco.... That flat is to clear the rear sight IIRC.... which mounts on a sleeve that covers that flat....

So I assume maybe a Disco barrel is better than a 2250 barrel?

AFAIK, all the 7/16" OD Crosman barrels are the same (quality), regardless of the gun they fit.... Crosman seems to have discontinued the 1760 & 2260 barrels because you can use a Disco one....

Who said this? Crosman only produces barrels in "spurts"- so at times they may be forced to ship a Disco barrel if they want to fulfill an order (they won't substitute automatically for parts dealers for some reason).

That being said- Zip being sent a 24" barrel instead of the 16" unit he ordered seems a bit out-to-lunch.

If you want to go 16" and the cut-out is 6" down- you can cut it off and still have the 16" you want- but this is alot of extra work compared to getting exactly what you had ordered...

All I know is that the guys ordering 24" barrels for 1760s and 2260s from Crosman in the US are being told "no longer available".... If they order the Disco barrel in .177 or .22 cal, no problem.... If their information is wrong, then I apologize....

It may not be "wrong"- Crosman has been getting a bit funky with parts, increasingly so the last couple months. I am negotiating a setup where I can order whatever barrels needed, but it may have to be in larger batches once or twice a year.
