What's all the hoopla about, so, you got a decent Phantom that shoots well, So do I, and about a half a million other people floatin' around the world. Give it a rest already.

So he's happy with his Phantom, so was I when I got mine and still am especialy after the trigger mod. He wants to talk Phantom...cool! There's never enough talk about them even if they are not the only air rifle out there.

The Phantom is a Crosman success as far as it looks, there are some really good ones out there and he has one.

Your is 0.177 and a 1000FPS version right?
That is a powerful gun right out of the box...are you saying its faster than
800 or 900 FPS? At first I thought you had a 495FPS that you thought was running at 900 ect.

My stock 0.22 495 gun only cocked to about 90 deg..I believe a full power model will cock MUCH further.

Scope - I am having issues also using a scope..if I figure it out I'll post.
Otherwise I may just learn from others and use the regular sights

I have both. Actually, except for the noise level- I prefer the .177 Quest for trying to shoot things accurately.

I had some barrel movement issues- so I shimmed the spring on the barrel detent- now I have to smack the barrel (hard) to break it open for cocking. A pain in the a$$ for sure- but there's no vertical play in it now! Mr. Green

I have no problem with mine after I tighten and loc-tite every thing that has threads on it.

I could go shoot it right now and show you my target and my groups right now without having to change anything.

I must be lucky.

the .177 1000 phantom is not the same model as the .22"phantom" because the 22 version is a TAC1

also the full powered one will not cock much farther it wont cock any farther at all...

Wow sorry to piss someone off about the post. I am just really astonished at the way this gun sounds and performs compared to the reviews i have read and compared to the other 2 phantoms i had to return. Yes i do have the 1000 fps .177 cal. u.s. version. The previous two phantoms that i had to return would make the pellet strike sideways on the paper target leaving the holes wide and ragged. Also, the pellets would not go through the wood backing. This phantom as i said earlier punches perfect holes and goes right through the wood, no ricochets. No twang just a pop.And very accurate.

The reason for my post is this.. Its very unusual to receive a 100 dollar mass produced gun that acts as if its already had been tuned. If you dont like my post, then dont read or respond to it. I wanted some insight as to why this gun acts and sounds the way it does, and if anyone else might of bought one that sounds and acts like this one. I also had a couple of questions throughout this post also. I really think you might also post if you received another one of your QB's that shot and sounded like it had been tuned from one of the great tuners out there.

I dont have a lot of money, so when i buy something, i really want to be happy. I know you get what you pay for and 100 bucks isnt much. I really wanted a beeman r9 or r7 but cannot afford it with a wife and 3 girls(under the age of 5). I also dont have much time to target practise. So having a gun that isnt hold sensitive and is accurate helps to make the time I have shooting very worth it. I really wish i would have asked all the phantom owners on this site to talk about their phantoms, how it sounds, acts, and shoots. I thought some people might respond saying "my phantom sounds like this, and does this" etc. Then maybe 2rcha wouldnt feel the need to tell me and people responding to this post to "give it a rest already"
