hello
I am a long time shooter/hunter, lately mostly paper punching. I have couple of no name AR rifles and 2 co2 pistols that have been gathering dust. I would like to try more serious air rifle shooting with better equipment.
I have been mining this forum and others for info on which rifle(s) to buy.
I think I have settled on .22 cal QB78d and a 22 nitro venom?..
There is an overload of information available in these forums, pro and con, that makes a choice difficult and I am 3-4 hours from any retailer so hands on testing is not easy. But I have 60ft in a heated shop and want trigger time this winter. |

Welcome to AirGunHome RIDER, I can’t speak for a nitro Venom, but I do have experience of QB78s. The basic model can be a bit iffy in regards to the barrels you can get a bad one, but this is rare, you would be better off buying the de-lux model, the finish is better and they seem to all have good barrels.
What ever you buy it will need the rough edges taking off and all the working parts polishing, plus a trigger tune. This is not very difficult and you will finish up with a first class rifle at a very reasonable price. You can find all the information you need on this forum.
Another thing is that if you have a 60 ft heated shooting area then you can shoot all year around, as Co2 powered rifles tend to drop in power in cold weather.
