I've always heard that fixed barrel air rifles are more accurate compared to break-barrels. Is that actually true? If so, how much of a difference is there between the two?
I kinda want to get a tack-driving .22 air rifle, but I can't really find many affordable fixed barrels. |

Fixed barrels tend to be a better bet for consistency, whereas break barrels can become worn over a period of time and the slight movement can cause problems with accuracy, especially if you are using a scope. But as with everything the better the quality be it fixed or break makes a lot of difference.
Personally I prefer fixed barrels because the scope is always on the same piece of metal as the barrel, and if you are using iron sights the separation is greater which aides better accuracy.
