What is considered to be the best overall (performance vs. price) PCP air-rifle setup on your side of the Atlantic?

This could be a tricky one, Europe is a big place and there are a dozen languages, plus there are a few dominant air gun makers spread around the place.

In the UK I would say that the Air Arms 400-410 series is the most popular regarding Quality and performance.

There are other makes such as Daystate, Weihrauch and Theoben who make beautiful rifles but are expensive, and of cause BSA but there rifles seem to have lost a bit in the style stakes.

Makes like Gamo, Diana, Falcon and FX You don’t see in any numbers, but on the Continent you will get a different answer. Shrug

I'm inclined to agree with Alstone with UK prices being considered separately. So why did I buy my Verminator? The major factor was weight! I had enough of trudging around with 9lb. Lee Enfields, and 28lb, Brens. Smile The weights are of course iirc? as it was a long time ago now.

Heh, just the right time to be checking back.

If I take a look at what people shouted on the dutch forum the past couple of years I'd say there's definitely something going on between Air Arms and Weihrauch, de S410 and HW100 models. Apart from that, money-wise, the Hatsan PCPs's were all the hype untill at least a year back. I also think that a lot of people are inclined to look at BSA PCP's to start with.

I think personally I'm hanging towards the S4x0 models. The price is about right and there's just this near perfect finish. Same goes for the HW100 but they're more expensive and I think they look overengineered. Yes, I did spend time shooting an HW100, and I just couldn't get around liking it. Razz
