I picked this up on a whim. One of the those "Hey I dont have a .20 cal, I should buy this" moments. I first saw the Benji sitting on the floor in the corner of a gun shop about 2 years ago. The open box on top had a Blue Streak in it and I looked at it every time I went in this Gun Shop, I always passed on it as I had a 347 sitting at the house that didn't get shot much. I sold the 347 a couple months ago and didn't really miss it. For what ever reason the Blue Streak really interested me this time. I left without it to go finish errands and think about it. On the way back home I stopped in to pick it up, I took the box on the bottom as it was unopened and wouldn't have greasy finger prints on it. I noticed the price on the box I had was $10 more than the one on top but I figured it was worth it since it was unopened. I mentioned it to the salesman and he informed me it was because it was different than the other one. I hadn't even noticed the check mark in the "silver" box, I just saw the Blue Streak pictured on the outside of the box. Needless to say this made the purchase even easier.
I didn't know what to expect for accuracy and only having one pellet choice, Benjamin Cylindrical pellets. I was pleasantly surprised as it put 10 pellets into one ragged hole smaller than a dime at 10 yds shot from a rest. I now have a rifle to practice my off hand shooting with. Once I get a couple other projects done I plan on making a peep sight for my new shooter.
Does anyone know when they quit producing the Silver Streak, If I'm reading it right this one was made in Jan. 2008.

BTW I had a scope on it for the 10 shot group in the pic. I wanted to see what it was capable of doing. I just realized I called this Sheridan a Benji, let the scolding begin |

Crosman lists production dates for the Silver Streak up to 2003, and the Blue Streak "to present." They don't list anything before 1995, which would be shortly after Crosman bought Benjamin-Sheridan's assets in 1992.

| The first place I checked was Benjamin / Sheridan dates of manufacture, but the last time it was updated was 2003. Not much help there. The other option on dating it would make it Oct of 1987 but that doesn't work since it is the Crosman version and "87 predates Crosman, so it is a 2008 model. It's not really a big deal to me, I was just curious about when they quit making them. During a Google search I did find a mention of when they quit making them but when I tried to find it again I couldn't.... |
