Hey guys,
I want to participate in a guitar building contest. The rules are that you have to build it out of poplar (the "frame) and a Masonite top and back. If you're not familiar with the concept, Danelectro guitars are build exactly like that, and that's one of the reasons already got myself one. THAT and they are cheap.
It's a great way to build a cheap and light guitar that still has a pretty unique sound to it. Using lipstick pickups you get an especially awesome "surf" sound, but it can be also used for old school Rock 'n Roll, British invasion and with a good distortion it'll also lend itself great to Blues. |
