| Anyone here shoot blowguns? I own several. I haven't shot any of them in a while, but they are fun. I have a .50 caliber and three .625 calibers. It takes a little more lung power for the .625, but it has bigger darts, and I have some razor tips for it. Most of my darts are 'spear tips.' Blow guns are good for taking small game at close range; 15-20 feet. They can be lethal. If you get a chance visit the Cold Steel site and watch the videos. |

I have a cold steel big bore! I've taken countless rats with it, along with doves, pigeons, starlings, ground moles, sparrows, carpenter bees, bullfrogs, (and one stray cat....don't boo-hoo me, I had rights by Castle Doctrine, the devil was in my house ). Steel darts for short range, they almost shoot completely through most buggers; Bamboo darts for 20 paces out to 40 with a lucky high-arcing volley, or better yet, up a tree. Unbelievably lethal, I love it. Those razor darts are nasty but have an equally nasty habit of catching wind and flying in funny trajectories for me.
I started out with one of those dinky little flea-market ones, and after maiming a few rats with that, I had to upgrade.
Very pleasant surprise, considering I bought the cheap-o expecting exactly zero results. |

Yeah, I love mine. Unfortunately I live in a city where it is hard to get out and do any serious shooting. Sometimes I'll go to my daughter's home out in the country and get in some action. |
