That's because they're not pellets. |

| I had never handled a synthetic stocked rifle until the other night at a buddies, he had a centerfire rifle and a couple of shotguns he uses for hunting and I thought they all felt cheap and plasticy toy like but I guess thats the the way they are. |

Congrats on the new acquisition LDH. Most Hatsan springers are really heavy. But the one advantage they have on most other springers is power with accuracy. And they kick like a mule, depending on the model. But they can be very effective long range huntings rifles. I have a 80TH, a 90 and a 125TH. I once took out a large possum with the 125 at about 70 yards. Their accuracy can be pretty ticklish, but once you sort out your hold issues, thats not a problem.
LDH, trust me when I say this. If you can, spend a day shooting at different ranges and at different targets with varying densities and you will soon get used to the weight, and see exactly how good it can be for a hunting springer at longer ranges. |

Hey Garth, what kind of guns did he have? Was the rifle a Ruger M77? I bet it wasn't. You could club someone to death with one, and they're lightweight. Was it a Weatherby? Please tell me what it was.
I forget now who it is that makes them, but I know someone sells shotguns in particular that are not only high quality composite but also coated in a full shell of a very very durable, waterproof material.
The composite stock that was on my Gamo Viper was sort of cheap, but it still wasn't "toylike". I've handled a pitifully small number of synthetic stocked FIREarms that felt that way, and they were pretty cheap ones.
You don't like AR-15s, is that your angle?
I'm just curious |

I'm content.
Spent most of the afternoon just re-zeroing/target shooting and all 3 of these will group inside a dime at 35 yards as long as you know what each rifle needs for a hold.
The Gamo has taken out thousands of ground squirrels and is getting long in the tooth. You have to make sure the barrel fully seats after cocking or it will shoot low etc and it just doesn't quite make the power it used to.
The Benji NP is a lot of fun for shooting paper targets, but it is useless for pest control as it doesn't come anywhere near the FPS rating they claim...
The Hatsan is without a doubt the most consistently accurate to shoot, but it's just too damn heavy for paper punching. It's made for killing things period and at that it excels way past the capabilities of the other two. It shoots more like a powderburner than an air rifle and takes down pests in much the same manner.

Hi, new here, but i'd love to chime in.
Most likely a good thing that your rifle does not chamber super light-weight pellets. Those supersonic cracks ( admittadly ) are very cool, but after , sometimes, not too many through the same springer, will cause damage to the internals/seals.
I do like the adjustable cheekpiece. Nice. |
