They seem to also be made of metal. I wouldn't fire those in my guns unless it was a beater gun which I don't have or a smooth bore gun.
I wouldn't risk ruining a good rifle with those. |

They're made for smoothbore guns- i.e. Marksman BB guns. I have a Marksman 2005 "Special Edition LaserHawk" pistol I got to see how/what it was. It says right on the box "also shoots darts and bolts". This pistol is the lowest quality, useless piece-of-crap I have ever laid my hands on in an airgun (if I dare call it that) and I am personally offended anyone would build such a thing, let alone market it to people. It's the kind of gun that would turn someone off airguns permanently if they were just starting out.
My point- the darts (and bolts) are not something I would put through a proper, rifled airgun barrel. They are also designed to work at short ranges (i.e. 5 yards maximum) and at low speeds (under 300fps). |

Are there any darts or bolts that have a soft outer rim? Something designed to be used with rifled barrels?
As an aside, I have an old Mondial (sp?) break barrel pistol with a smooth bore that apears to be meant for darts. I don't shoot it much because I don't want to wear the beutiful old nickle plating. It's just a nice gun to look at, put a couple darts through and put away. I understand that Benjamin used to make their pump pistols and (I think) rifles available with smooth bores.
If you want to shoot darts out of a modern gun, consider a Crosman 22xx as a starting point for a barrel swap. Maybe one of the Beeman Chinese imports they sell at WalMart. The multi barrel makes it an obvious place to start if you want a dart rifle. |
