| My son has a red ryder. I don't know what the desert rose is though unless it's the female version of a red ryder. I know that the red ryder was too hard for my son to cock until he hit 9. I used to cock it for him though and he could shoot it fine. |

Never shot the Crosman, but I have two red ryders that I purchased a couple months ago. They are both good shooters.
A youngster might have some problems cocking the gun, but with your help, it'll all work out fine. |
