| Out of stock, that is. My question is, does anyone have any experience with these things? I was ordering a bunch of stuff, and these things halted my order. Are they worth waiting for, do they even work? |

| Yessir I use those or the even more pricey VFG for 99% of all cleaning, buffing, oiling chores. They work smarvy. |

| You can do a decent job with a rod and patches (which I prefer, then I "know" the barrel is clean). That being said, I clean my barrels about once every thousand shots- whereas with an oiled cleaning pellet I could do some amount of cleaning after each shooting occasion... |

| I like Beeman cleaning pellets better than RWS due to the Beemans being a bit smaller and easier to load into the tight breech area of my pistol. RWS cleaning pellets fit tighter and probably do a better job, but are harder to load. |

| I can't wait to get my order. They emailed me and offered to just send the cleaning pellets when they become available. Thumbs up, airgunwarehouse.com. I ordered some really light hyper velocity pellets that probably aren't going to shoot very well, but I want to try out anyway. I also ordered some Rabbit Magnum IIs and Exact Monsters, very excited to see how they perform, as I've never shot that style of pellet before. Also got some Silver Bear high-impacts, and, just for giggles, some 17 caliber darts that should be fun to lob at the neighbor kids. (Kidding, of course) |

I'm starting to worry that my gun won't feed the heavy pellets well as I'd like, having ready some more reviews online. I'm planning to move to Peru soon or I'd be spending some serious money on a big-boy gun.... Does anyone have any experience shooting heavy pellets from a gun like mine? Its a Gamo Viper... I wish I could go back in time and buy a Diana Magnum, but I'll make due with what I have. Maybe if I get get my barrel shortened and it looks good enough I'll try to sell it.
But I'm rambling.
Because this forum is sloooooooooow and I'm bored and it's dark. |

I bought some, thinking they were "shoot-through" cleaning pellets (at least that's what Cabela's told me). When I read the instructions I found that RWS recommended pushing them through with a rod - for springers they suggested loading several to prevent piston slam. I used them up and went back to a pull-through with a patch.

Be sure they aren't metal (that could scratch the bore). A lot of those are designed for smoothbore guns. |

| Thanks for the heads up about the cleaning pellets! And I intended to shoot the darts out of my old Marksman anyway, I'm fairly afraid to see what kind of flight trajectory the dart might take coming out of the Viper anyway. |

I got all my stuff today, my wooden stock that someone was kind enough to trade me for, and all the pellets I ordered. (Including the cleaning pellets that weren't supposed to be in stock til the 4th. Go figure.) Can't wait to get out tomorrow and see how they shoot. All of them were capable of hitting the guard rail 20 yards from my front door without any adjustment to the scope, so that's a good sign. The Rabbit Mags and Exact monsters sound like baseballs hitting it, and the 4 grain super velocities crack like a .22 rimfire. Good times ahead, methinks.
And those darts? Out of my old Marksman, they bury far enough in the maple tree in my yard that I can't pull them out with my fingers.  |

Got some good shooting in today.
The super light bullets shoot straight...sometimes. Sometimes they fly 4 inches wide, randomly. And they fly straight....sometimes. Sometimes they keyhole. Ouch. Boy, they travel though. Woe to anything thats unlucky enough to get hit with one, can't wait to see what they do to a starling or rat. They cost too much to waste, so I'll take the gamble and just smile when the gun cracks.
The Exact Monsters shoot about 4 inches lower than 7-9 grain pellets at 25 yards. I can aim right at the top of my bottom post, and they really pack a wallop. The Rabbit Magnums however, shoot anywhere in at least a 6 inch circle. Not too pleased with them.
The RWS sampler is very satisfying, and my gun likes all of them. I had to carve my new wooden stock to accept the plastic spring-cap from my Gamo Viper, and knocked it around in the process so I had to rezero my scope. I used the hollow points, and all the other comparably weighted pellets shoot minute-of-starling with this zero. The Silver Bears shoot very well also.
And these darts....these darts are trouble. Nobody needs these. I like them.  |
