If you were to take the time to watch some of over 50 of Jr. Squirreler's YouTube videos on many aspects of hunting and safety you would know he IS an out standing young gent.

Yes, my point was more aimed at the kid. The one whom Jr. wrote the letter to his dad. The rest was just a subtle dig at Jr. ( I love him, really ).
OOOOPS, there's another one . I'm on fire. Faq-U

Thank you! I am going to have to disagree on our beginning videos though. They are a little rough. But we do get what NZ Shooter is saying. (We would have gotten it without all of the criticism) The way we saw it, the worst the Dad could have said was No. But now we understand why it was a little "risky" ("We" as in my Cousin and I, for he helped me write the letter)

Maybe, maybe not matey. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, especially if it is requested. As far as I'm concerned, all I'm doing is stirring up some controversy. I am not trolling on the net looking for s**t. I subscribe to THIS forum, and this forum only. A "troll", by definition, lurks ANYWHERE he/she can to dig in to an argument, then bugger off to the next forum.
I'm still here, and if you read my posts, am as serious as the next person about air-gunning. Yes my sarcasim shines through, but hey, I'm getting it back, and not having a cry about it, nor am I getting off on it. Off to pin some rabbits to trees, I feel. (with the gun, that is Exclamation )

I love air guns, but I can't hunt. I don't have the heart for it. I just feel too much for the "little furry creatures".

That said, I don't have anything against it. In fact I believe it's necessary in many cases. And eventually I'm sure I'll get over my fear of killing animals. I think it's from a bad experience where I had to dispatch a squirrel up close because I was trying to use BB's. So stupid of me, and I felt horrible about it for a long time after.

I don't think he's trying to control someone else's parenting. He can give him his opinion, and what he does with it is his business.

I'm happy that guy got suspended. Laughing

I'm not a parent myself, but I've passed this around the guys at work a little, and recall my own father, and relate to my brothers who are fathers.

My quandary, is HOW and WHY would you get upset if your child brought you something INTELLIGENT and MORALLY SOUND to try to convince you to let them partake in any activity? I see, what, like 4 people admitting that that would upset them?!

Seriously. How close minded are you? Even those of us that grew up in strict religious (Baptist) situations don't see why this would make you angry. I was beat as a child, when I needed it, but I never faced such tyranny as a parent being upset over any intelligent proposition. To this day my dad will argue that dinosaurs didn't exist because they weren't in the Bible, but I'm sure if I were for some reason called upon to ask his permission to say, WATER SKI, or CLIFF DIVE, if I had an intelligent and morally sound way to present it, he would acquiesce.

MY 2c.

Good points benny and toadmeister.
The kill, and cleaning game after are my least favorite parts of hunting. I just like to be out there in the weeds.

I'm sorry this is about a month late, but thanks Toad. LOL I was just reading some of my old posts, and found this. After reading all of those replies again, I can really see where I went wrong. However, I do not think there was a need to go into a "fit of rage" as NZ did.

Thanks guys.
