| found out why it broke the spring and i smoothed the culprit out with my dremel. i ordered a new spring and piston seal from umarex today im wanting to know what lubes will work and can they be gotten locally? it looks smooth inside the chamber croshatched well and the seal looks ok but figgured if im that far put in new seal. it never twanged when firing but does it need tar? the pistol was always smooth shooting just had a burr that broke the spring . any help with lubes be much appreciated |

If the gun is shooting ok without any twang then I wouldn’t use heavy tar on it, just wipe it over with a light machine oil, or if you do want to put some light tar on it use motorcycle chain spray, after spraying the solvent will evaporate and leave a thin layer of sticky lube.

Just put it on the sides of the seal and rear of piston about an inch long thin smear all round those ends. If you put it IN the chamber, burnish in a little and wipe almost all of it off. So little left that it wil just gray a white cloth a little if you rub on it.
+1 on the chain lube. Don't go overboard with it, and on the spring only. Spray a little in dabs and let it dry/gel before shooting.
Just my experiences. I'm no expert here. |

| yes radar it was buggerin my mind why it broke that spring took some time to figgure why. the safety was dragging hard on the cocking bar so i polished it and now it cocks like cutting soft butter i even belive it takes mabe 5 pounds less effort to cock but a drag here and 1 there = wasted work heavier load for no reason . we need rain but it seems to be crappy when im home and nice when im working like its readin my mail . i have a bunch of pop cans wanting some holes punched in them . i usually poke a can on a small limb then see how few shots it takes to cut a can in too |
