Hey gang.....
Spent the day at the farm and got another 150-200 rounds thru the benji.
Zero'd in perfectly and holding 1-1/2" groups now at about 35 yds.
However.......all of a sudden the cocking starting sticking and felt like metal too metal raking in the gun......then the next few shots were normal......then I cocked it and it jammed about halfway......wouldnt cock at all. I wiggled the barrel back and forth and it let go and cocked smoothly then.
I took the stock off the rifle and cleaned everything up and oiled everything up real good. This is the first oil I've added since I took it out of the box. Mostly just on the moving parts and the trigger mechanism.
This seemed too take care of the problems and the trigger now works alot smoother also.
So.......just because its new......clean and oil it really good right outta the box.
Now then.......accuracy.
Like I said......we're almost tack driving with one problem........after really having fun and putting almost a hundred more rounds thru the gun.......all at once I was 3" high and left.......so I rechecked all the scope mounts and hardware for looseness. Coundnt find anything wrong.
Zero'd the scope back in and shot another 50 rounds or so and back too tack driving.
My neighbor "Pappy" watched me set a can up at 85 yds. I actually done it for a joke with him......he laughed as I zero'd in on the can....pretty good cross wind too the left, so I held 1/4 milldot too the right and one milldot high.........he didnt laugh when I hit the can 16 out of 20 shots!!!!.
Not bad for 85 yds away.
I couldnt believe that only one milldot high with the gun zero'd in at 25 yds. was all it took too center the can each time......that's pretty flat shootin!.
I still want too add the new trigger and if the zero moves again....a new scope will be soon after.
Anyone else experienced any of these problems?
Seems like its getting quieter and shooting harder all the time.
I think they're 100 round break in period is more like 500 rounds too get super accuracy. But I'm sure all guns are different. |

Yeah, I've had the things shift aim. If the barrel wasn't full of something the stock screws working loose, and my hold was the same, them it must be the scope.
I believe in a few drops of oil or a smear of grease. Not too much. They don't need much. |

| Mine loves Polymags, HN Field Target (with the lip around the head), Premiers hp or dome, Crosman Field Hunting, and JSB's Express all the way up to the heavies. Try some pellets 16 grains or higher, the shot cycle really smooths out. Glad to hear that thing is treating you right! |

Alright......spent the day at the farm again yesterday and got some shootin time in also.
Gun seems too be doing much better now and I didnt touch anything on the scope.
We have several sycamore trees along the creek back with a steep hill behind them......so this makes for some perfect target shooting as these trees have puff balls on them this time of year and the hill makes for a perfect backdrop for the pellets too hit without worry of where they're going.
I shot 20 times yesterday evening when I came out of the wood at those puff balls and hit 20 our of 20.....no misses!!!! That was great fun!.
This gun shoots as accurately as my .17 hmr. I cant say how happy I am with its performance so far.
After oiling the gun, I have had no more issues with bad trigger pull or hard cocking. I strongly urge everyone too take the wood stock off they're guns and oil the slide chamber and the trigger mechanism.
I'm sure before the day is over I'll be heading back out too the farm for some more fun. We dont have Sunday hunting here or I would spend the day in the woods. |

That sounds like great fun Mayor.
My area is filled with Sumac trees which at this time of year are covered in red "bobs". I sit in the entrance to the woodshed and see how far are can pick one off.
Great fun watching them vaporize |
