Just wanted to say hi. Just joined today and looks like lots of good topics here to read.

Have been interested in airguns for years, especially this time of year. Christmas time always gets me thinking of bb guns and pellet guns and so forth. First bb gun I got was for christmas. Still have it too and it still shoots but it dont look so good. Its a daisy with a woodstock with lever action. Wish I had a dollar for every sparrow and starling it brought down.

A year or two later I got a crossman 766 that I wore out.

In my adault life I used to own a daisy 922, a crossman 2200 and some kind of cheap chineese underlever 177 rifle that I never did like. Never could get it to quit dieseling.

Had some shotguns and rifles along the way too.

Now I have a beeman kodiak .22 that has been converted to the thoeben gas spring powerplant with a bushnell trophy scope. Thats kind of what I used to come up with my username. I really like that gun but it sure is heavy.

Also have a daisy 130 break barrel in .177 and my son still has a crossman 1077W and the first daisy bb gun I got him too.

Im in search of a particular bb gun that a neighbor boy next door had when were were kids and I dont know what kind or model it was. I was planning on posting a description over in the other board to see if anyone else could help out.

Welcome! Years ago (before getting into pcp's)
the kodiak was my dream springer.

To my knowledge, in my years on this board nobody has ever
done a review on one. If they have, always room for one more.
Feel free to fire away.

-veloity/fpe
-accuracy
-pics, the usual we like around here. Smile

What kind of pre charged rifles you got? Ive been watching and looking over lots of them on the net lately. The thoebens and daystates look real nice to me but they are pricey. As far as break barrels, I always wanted a crow magnum or the equivialant eliminator from thoeben.

As far as a review, I dont have a cronograph to measure velocity but would be glad to do some groups with different pellets. Somewhere in my puter I was thinking I has some videos of grapes getting splattered with the kodiak.

Currently just one. Started with a .22 disco then sold it
for a .22 marauder.

How do you charge that maruader? I sure like the looks of those rifles and the price too.

I'm using an aluminum 80cf 3000 psi tank.
It won't do a max fill but how I have it set up i'm
getting 23 shots within about 18fps spread
spitting kodiaks around 800fps (29-30 fpe).

That's roughly 2200-1600psi.

They have had some defect issues with the first run.
Mine was gen-1 and had a defective barrel replaced
this year and is now accurate.

The triggers are unbelievable for the price.

Mine is now going on 3 years old and has come up with a slow leak. Rolling Eyes

Not really a big deal tho with a tank. It's still holding air for a day.
That problem is on my "when I get around to it" list.

Do the triggers on the pcp's compare to the feel of a good break barrel? I think that would be awesome to get the kind of velocity out of a rifle like yours without the recoil of the piston like my kodiak. Although the gas conversion tamed it down alot but its still hard to plink a sparrow off the fence a long ways off.

Clap Clap
Yes they do...and...uh...yes they are pricey. I want a Daystate Huntsman Classic in the worst way, but my budget says maybe a Disco...which is really excellent, especially for a fraction of the price.

Triggers are all different gun to gun period.
The disco is plastic, the mrod metal.

I have a tuned B-26 (R-9) clone that is light and crisp.

For a comparison, I have a $1700 match grade springfield
M1A and the trigger on the mrod is smoother...
