After shooting my 2289 for a while, the hole for the pivot pin at the end of the tube had become oval. I didn't take a before picture or in progress shots unfortunately.
I drilled out the hole, but didnt think there was enough metal left to last, so I drilled even larger then tapped the hole with a 1/8" NPT pipe thread tap.
I screwed in a 1/8" pipe nipple and brazed it into place. Sawed off the excess and filed both sides flush.
The inside diameter of a 1/8" pipe nipple is, as you would expect, a bit larger than 1/4". So I drilled the hole in the pump tube and barrel band to 1/4".
I ground the end off a drill bit to use as a pin and used spring nuts and washers from home depot to hold it in place.
Hope someone finds this interesting or helpful and it isn't too wordy or too many pictures. |

| Good information on repairing worn pivot pin holes. You can never have too many pictures (unless they're your vacation photos of course). |

| Nicely done, and probably sturdier than original. Should the repair wear out you can easily do it all over again. |

A nice sturdy job, a bit of blueing compound on it to finish and it should last forever.
