It's a palm rest. When you shoot offhand at stationary targets it's good to bury your elbow against your hip in order to get a column of bones supporting the gun. This just helps me reach the fore end of the stock. Another option is to support the fore end with your fingertips or knuckles, but I don't find that comfortable. They are usually adjustable fore and aft in an accessory rail, but that curve in the G1 stock only presented me with one mounting point. |

| That makes sense. Thanks for the info. I have a new butt stock coming in tomorrow from Gamo (whisper VH). I wanted one with a pistol grip and could never find one from crosman so, Gamo it was. Hopefully it works. |

You've heard of muzzle brakes? That's not a butt hook, it's a "butt brake." Because it was a bicycle brake lever in a former life. And no, I don't have a compulsion about using bicycle parts on guns. The cheek piece is a pancake griddle.

Bravo!
It's certainly more becoming than the adhesive neoprene and 5 layers of duct tape I put on my cheekpiece
And you can pull yours off and cook breakfast on it should you become lost in the woods |

As you can see, jhunterb18, we take things very seriously around here.
How did you do your buttplate? |

Lol, yeah I can see that!
I used some longer screws and some spacers to extend it some. I did it because I had to move the scope back for room for the sunshade. It makes sighting in easier and faster. |

I see what you mean. Any longer and you wouldn't be able to open the barrel. My sunshade is a piece of PVC pipe, so I could set the scope for normal eye relief and chop the pipe where I wanted it.
What kind of shooting do you do? I use my G1 mostly as a 100 yard bench rifle. I have other airguns that I use for different ranges/circumstances. |

Target practice mostly, using a table and clay pigeons set at different distances (farthest target is around 90-100 yards) and heights. I have killed about 4 squirrels with it and turkey that was around 18lbs or more from around 40-50 yards. Guess headshots will kill them with a pellet rifle.
I use Crosman Premier HP pellets. Seem to be able to keep consistent grouping with them and get good distance also. Plus, they are readily available at sports stores. |
