Because I always wanted a 10 meter rifle, and because I personally think it's one of the most awesome rifles ever made, I recently purchased an old FWB300. It was probably build in Juli/August '71 after checking a bunch of sites on the web. I have send the ladies and gentlemen at Feinwerkbau a message with my serial number: 85669. We will see! It's "recoilless" as in: the action of the rifle sits on some sort of rail-system that allows the rifle to slide in the stock while you're pulling the trigger. It won't flop around needlessly, don't worry. It makes for a very VERY smooth shot. Shows in your shot picture too. Me and my roomies suck at competition shooting. It's a dream to shoot though, working out how it shoots is a lot of fun, and it's also a good plinker. We started off with shooting black dots, but now we're doing most-hits-out-of-5 on a teaspoon. Lots of fun and you don't need much. The game: Teaspoon shooting. The set-up: Shooting a hook-ended teaspoon of the pellet-catcher from 10 meters. The rules: 6 rounds with 3 heats per contestant 5 shots per heat 1 hit = 10 points 5 hit streak = +10 points (In stead of 50, this makes for 60 points for a perfect streak, which can make a great advantage later in the match) After 3 rounds there is a counting of the scores to get an intermediate score. This is followed by another 3 rounds resulting in a final score. No one had a 5 hit streak yet. With tree shooters we take turns in who counts the scores, and who hangs the spoons. - The score counter is reffered to as counter. - The person who pics up the spoon and hangs it to the ledge is called Spooner (in Dutch; Lepelaar, actually a type of bird.) A near-miss (We call this a Siebrand, because one of my roomies, with the same name, seems to have an uncanny talent for near misses) doesn't count, the spoon has to fly off the ledge of the pellet-catcher for the shooter to score a point.
