Well I just got my second "real" airgun today.
Its a gamo silent cat in .22 caliber. It came with a crappy scope, a gamo 4x by 32mm. It has a 1'' tube.
I know not many of you are fond of Gamo but the price was right on this one.
So I was having a blast shooting it today at 20 yds, and with benjamin 14.3gr hollowpoints I was printing some 1'' groups. It seems pretty accurate, and I'd like to shoot some longer ranges, so I'm looking for a 3-9x or 4-16x, maybe even higher power scope, must have a mil dot reticle and turrets I can operate by hand, and hopefully it stays under $110, (the gun was 176, and I'm looking for the best balance between price and quality, like most newbies I want everything the cool kids have for half the price Cool

Whats a good scope for me? also will I need a mount to raise the scope? the 32mm is riding low already!

ALSO..... does anyone have a recomendation for the best pellets outa this gun? thanks to all in advance.[img][/img]

That's all about Gamo's U.S. marketing strategies, and also parts availability. You won't get any flack about the gun itself.

I like adjustable objective lenses. With a powder burner the difference between 100 yards and 200 is workable, but in the airgun "envelope" the difference between 10 yards and 20 is huge. It's nice to be able to compensate.

I'm with you 100% about the mil dot reticle and finger knob turrets. Be sure the scope is rated for spring/piston airgun use - springers have bidirectional recoil that could destroy a reticle braced for only rearward recoil.

As for pellets, the best advice is to try a bunch. I've had good luck with RWS products, and there are a lot of people that like JSB.

Centerpoint mounts have the locking pin for sure.
