Hello fellow airguners,,,,I have a RWS 350/.177...My question is,,what scope/rings are recommended that will hold zero??...I use it for target/hunting/pest/backyard shooting....thanks, Dan Smile

I would suggest some decent, I mean DECENT scope mounts and a sturdy scope, also something not to expensive. Someone from the forum will be here shortly as to what may be availabe on your side of the pond, as on this side we have a lot of choice.

I suggest small and not to many bells and whistles, like a 4 x32 or 4 x 40 type scope.

As Broom mentioned, you are probably better off sticking with a fixed magnification on the 350, use solid mounts with 4 capscrews per ring, not 2 (or a single-piece mount that has four capscrews per cap). Some "airgun" rated scopes may not hold up on the 350- but I understand that many NcStar and Leapers models have survived quite well.

I recommend the Centerpoint 4-16x40AO illuminated reticule (not that I use the illumination). Along with a good 1 piece mount, as Eric said, with 4 screws per ring. I use that scope with the mounts Crosman provided on my Super Streak (same power class as a D350). The same setup has worked nicely on my D34. The setup has held strong for many thousands of shots on BOTH rifles.

Blue loc-tite it all (just a drop per screw). Let sit 24-hours before shooting to cure. On the stop pin (a good mount will include one), there is usually a point. I had to file the point down on my pin so it could be screwed in fully. An aftermarket scopestop block may be necessary, but not always.

Clean the rail and all threads with rubbing alcohol and paper towels to remove all grease and dirt that would interfere with a proper mounting procedure. Look up how to properly mount a scope and follow the directions.

You will need a vise and some soft towels to put the gun in, and a small level. Make sure to use the correct size wrench for the screws, approximates will only strip the head and be more of a pain in the a$$.

Thanks guys,,,,I'm looking(scopes/mounts) as I'm typing,,,any opinions are greatly appreciated, so what do you recommend(brands) for one piece mounts?? When it comes to air rifles, I feel ignorant compared to my center-fire deer rifles...Thanks, Dan Smile

I was actually looking at ubercheap scopes in the $35 range (some passable ones out there but not necessarily AG rated) for my rs2 but i grabbed a centerpoint 4-16x40 from walmart for 70 bucks and.. i love the thing. To the point it makes me want to get a better rifle to use it with. If you want cheaper there are lots of tasco/bushnell scopes out there. May or may not be ag rated (hard to find out on a lot of htem) but.. well if its cheap enough you just replace it. The bushnell/tasco 3-9x50 (i think) seemed pretty nifty.. 50mm will capture a LOT of light. If youre looking for more options try pyramid they have tons of the things with ratings. Honestly i wouldnt spend More than 80 bucks period.. at that point youre spending money for vanity. And i would Definitely get a scope with magnification. Sure that 6x is fine at 10 or 20 yards. But when you decide to shoot at 50 or 70 .. its hard to get "tight groups" when you can barely even see your target. Ive read nothing but good about centerpoint scopes. While ive read bad reviews on just about every other scope including the vaunted leapers.

I have a good impression of my Leapers Accushot 3-12x44AO SWAT Rifle Scope, Illuminated Mil-Dot Reticle, 1/8 MOA, 30mm Tube. I strongly recommend adding a Leapers Accushot SWAT Side Wheel to really dial in the focus. For a mount, I would use a one-piece design such as the Leapers Accushot 1-Pc Mount w/30mm Rings, High, 11mm Dovetail.

Yeah, I know this sounds like an advertisement for Leapers. I promise you I have no relationship to the company other than as a satisfied customer.

You may already know that because the Hammerli is not a springer, there is a greater selection of scopes to choose from. A springer requires a scope designed and built specifically for it's weird double recoil.
