find with my npxl 1100 that i am pulling the trigger about 1/2 way during the up breath and pull the rest of the way during the down breath pause and my groups tightened.
what are trigger stages and what exactly am i adjusting with the adjustment screw on the trigger? |

You're not really adjusting anything of any significance- the entire concept of the trigger on these rifles being "adjustable" is a fantasy put forth by the manufacturer.
Purchase a GTX II trigger blade (from Airguns of Arizona in the U.S. or scopesandammo.com in Canada) to have the trigger be fully adjustable and predictable. |

That 6 second rule (usually 8 seconds) is so that the image of the target doesn't get burned into your retina thereby fooling your brain into thinking the target is somewhere it isn't. Really this is a training rule followed by ISSF/Olympic level shooters who have already mastered the fundamental mechanics of shooting
Focus instead on mastering hold (artillary hold) and trigger squeeze. I would purposely take longer than this ideal 8 seconds while learning to squeeze the trigger so that it bursts like an over ripe berry |
