Got another fat female yesterday digging where she didnt belong. In the back, out the head @30 yards

A close up of the exit wound

The penetration and accuracy with these gamo rockets is amazing me in a low end "1000 FPS" gamo 220 hunter.

You are having better luck than I ever did twalter. I couldn't hit the broad side of a bull's a$$ with them in my crosman. I got another starling today, but I was only out there for an hour.

I'm with you... I have not found one single pellet marketed under the Gamo name that is worth a damn for any type of consistency.

I'll post some pictures tomorrow of my 5 shot dime sized groups at 25 yards. I couldn't stand them at first as they were throwing high left, but I figured I spent enough for the tin I'd try to zero them in and see if I could get something out of them. I started to dial them in... I couldn't believe it and now it's all I put down range. Granted the 4 pack of pellets of gamo wad cutter, domed and pointed have been long since tossed. I really wish the crosman destroyers worked, as I had some success early on with them and just liked the name and shape. Superficial I know, but such is life.

Oh I believe you I am just exclaiming I have had no such luck with them.

I can put Polymag Predators inside a dime at 35 yards all day long, but so far they are the only pellet I have been able to do that with in 3 different rifles shot after shot after shot.

Got another squirrel yesterday, a small male with a big pair. It was blind in one eye since it had not fully developed and was sunken inside the socket. That is the first squirrel with a deformity that I have seen in my 165+ kills.

I thought I had missed it at first because it ran up a tree about 20ft but I watched it a few seconds and it fell out of the tree dead with a shot right to the heart. I had shot at it beforehand and missed too but thanks to it's testosterone it came right back after 10 minutes of hiding in the tree despite being wary of me and seeing me aiming at it again with it's good eye.

He decided to act brave and stand "his" ground while watching me instead of running away like he did the first time and it cost him.

Saturday morning I got 2 more squirrels, both in the ear. First one paid me no mind as I got in position and knocked him off the stump. A few leg kicks and he was still. The second one got ancy as I slid open sliding glass doors and started up the tree. I got in position and waited on him to make a move, he dropped his head right on the crosshairs and it was good night for Mr Nutter. This one flopped quite a bit more and longer than any previous head shot. It was a clean in and out, ear to ear. Could I have missed the brain?

I expect alot more activity in the lawn as the winds shook down the oaks rather thoroughly and acorns were everywhere as I walked the back of the lot surveying the damage left by Irene.

I think the brain is between the eyes and the ears. I wonder if you got behind the brain where it connects with the nerves going to the spine and it just took time to bleed out. Was there a lot of blood? If not then it just took some time for the nervous system to shut down.
