Hey guys, I'm just wondering, since I just bought a Crosman 357 CO2 revolver. I hear the fail/dry up/ leak everyone once in a while. In my Airsoft replicas, I use thick Silicone oil designed for O-rings and Dupont Teflon silicone that's O-ring safe. My question is, could I use them on the CO2 seal to keep them lubed up? How bout a few drops down the barrel and a patch to keep everything clean? Any helpful response would be greatly appreciated! - Ronan |

| I've always been using 1 drop of pellgun oil on the top of a CO2 cartridge every 4th one or so. I wouldn't wipe down the barrel at all. Lube in the barrel= gummy dust. I use windex when I clean my barrel. |

The silicone oils you are using would be an excellent choice for a cartridge seal.
I agree with Todd however to keep them out of the barrel. |

| Isn't Windex water based? Is that a good idea in the barrel? |

| Windex is water based, but it evaporates quickly due to having alcohol and ammonia. That and I run patches thru the bore till they come out spotless. |

I see in the manuals of some of my pistols that they say to use a drop on every cartridge, do you think thats too excessive? |

I think so, since the shots go all over the place when you use it. I think every few cartriges would be better like said before. |

| Sometimes following the manual is overkill. Maybe Crosman wants to sell more oil? lol Anyway, as long as you get some lube on it is better than none. I would rather have something under lubed than overdone. You can always add more, but taking it out is the hard part. |
