Time for all the little rugrats to go to school! That means my wife too. lol SHe is a teacher so she has been dreading this for weeks. They have cut back on staff since our governor is a total a$$hole. He sucks out loud with purpose. Anyway, she has a bigger class load than ever and it's due to all the cutbacks.
It's funny that they can buy all new furniture for the admins, but they ran out of paper last year for worksheets for the students. She is a special ed teacher and they have ran her up to the legal limits on class size and caseloads. She tried applying at different schools during summer break but all the other schools in our area are running into the same thing.
So now I am back to being alone again for the day, and it's going to get worse before it gets better. She had to be there at 6 this morning and she will be there till 6:30 tonight. It's all a total load of BS if you ask me.
So anyway, who else is a teacher or related to one who has ran into these problems due to the no child left behind law?. The illegal legislation that created new laws and rules that gave no money to these programs that are supposedly helping these kids?
My wife's pay actually went backwards this year due to a pay freeze and more expensive insurance that does less! A 2 year pay freeze. The dumbasses actually voted yes on the last contract that had this in it, and they still cut the budget. My wife doesn't have to worry about being RIFed because she is 2nd in seniority to the whole building. She even has more seniority than all of the administration staff.
My meds are now over 300 dollars a month, and they will only go up. I am going to try to get help in other places to help pay for them, but I doubt it will do much good. Nobody will hire me due to my condition and I can't even get training to get out of the rut I am in. I guess things could be worse, but they also should be a lot better.
So, if you live in ohio and are reading this, vote NO on 2 this year because your firemen, your Police and your teachers will go to no union contracts. This means that you won't have the best you can get of these three things, you will be getting the cheapest people because all the good employees will have went to the private sector where they can make better money. Do you really want a cop coming to your house after a breakin that is making minimum wage? A firefighter that is overworked and underpaid trying to save your family and home? A teacher who just looks at their job as a paycheck? This is what we are headed for folks if these governors are allowed to keep breaking unions. And it will just get worse, believe me. |
