Thanks for the sentiment justsayno, I live away from the big cities although for the last week I have been staying in Lincoln, but no problem there.

Most of the rioting is in the well to do area’s of London by a section of society that lives by robbing and cheating to make a living and live in the parts of London that has a high immigration content. 90 % of whom are teenagers.

The police are scared to death of hitting anyone in case they are prosecuted for assault, they won’t use water cannon or rubber bullets on the mainland as it would be “Un-British”. So for the moment the crap of society rules.

They could bring in the army to sort things out by cracking a few heads, but the government is scared to death it would look bad around the world, as we have the Olympic Games next year. Also if this kicks off next year while the games are on it will be the a disaster that will be blamed on the useless police force and spineless government, and the human right's laws.

Hip-hip-array! A lot can happen in 24 hours, the government has authorised the use of baton rounds (Rubber bullet’s), Water cannon and kicked the “Human rights act” into touch. Mr. Green

Now the police can blast the crap out of the crap on our streets. Uzi Shooting

I watched a teacher being interiewed on TV about this.... She feels that the disfunctional young people causing the trouble are a direct result of the "Entitlement" we are bestowing on our youth.... While most young people today have picked up a good work ethic from their elders, there is a growing proportion that don't work in school because they pass anyway, get into trouble as juveniles because there are no consequences, and their parents are there to back them up on both accounts instead of showing them that being an idiot has consequences....

My daughter is a teacher, and she is constantly being "encouraged" by school Principals to pass students with averages as low as 30% because "poor Johnny" has already taken the course three times.... Of course the fact that "poor Johnny" is distruptive in class (when he attends), never hands in an assignment, and is often absent during tests isn't HIS fault.... Rolling Eyes

How long before society realizes we are creating an ever growing number of lazy youth who feel that society owes them a living and if they don't get it given to them they will bloody well just go out and take it from those who have actually WORKED for it ????

It's just as bad here Bob.My wife is told to pass kids all the time that are doing the same thing. I think everything should be related to grades, just as having a performance review at a job. I personally am tired of people thinking that they can live off the government just because they are lazy. I would kill to be in good enough shape to get a job, but there are people sitting around every day getting high and watching TV all day that think that should be able to get more and more.

I know there are some people in my neighborhood that are on welfare and they drive a nicer car than I do. It just disgusts me. Here I am on a measly 569 dollars a month and paying for my own meds out of it, and if my wife was unemployed we could get almost 1900 dollars a month. People think they are entitled to this, but there ought to be some rules. First, make them do SOMETHING. Hell even garbage trucks need washed once in a while. Next mandatory drug tests. If you don't pass you don't get anything. Third an education. Make them go back to school if they didn't graduate, and make them learn some job skills. It's just a poor excuse for most. I know a guy who works all summer and he works 6 days a week, with a bunch of over time. then when he is laid off for winter he automatically gets welfare without saving a dime of any of the money that he made all summer. If it was me, I would be banking all of that overtime and use it when I am laid off. At least I wouldn't be on the public dole.

Those are some very well said points there guys. @Bob.Your a generation before of me,but I've noticed,a huge difference in behavior, and respect overall,in the generation ahead of me.I think a-lot of it has to do with laws regarding punishment. When I was a youngster I got my a$$ tanned if I was out of line. Now kids call the Police on their parents for a simple spanking... Rolling Eyes
Now there is that fine line between punishment, and abuse. Now little Johnny gets the Ipod taken away for a while instead of a proper reason to conduct oneself accordingly.

The last teaching job my wife had her students called her by her first name. NoNoNo 3rd and 4th graders.

When the one little bastard would get out of line and get a time out,
he would run out of the classroom to the the secretary's office,
who was his grandmother, then my wife would get in trouble
for hurting his feelings. NoNoNo

Gotta love parent paid private school.

Keep the jails full. Faq-U

I just had a guy quit on me 3 weeks ago because
at age 24 with an 8th grade education he thought
1 year in the trades made him a master finisher
and he was ready to triple his pay. Rolling Eyes

I've always said the only way to get the attention of some kids is pain, I seem to remember being caught smoking behind the bike sheds, and got caned across the backside for it, I didn’t do it again.

Our biggest problem in the UK is the "Human rights act", to my way of thinking if you break the law then it doesn’t count. and you are treated accordingly.

I got my a$$ busted for plenty of things. I still bust my kid's a$$ if it something serious enough. It's kind of funny though. My two sons never give me much problems, but my grandson, who lived with my daughter for the first year and a half of his life acts like an a$$ in public and seems to get taken to the bathroom for punishment a lot more than his uncles do.

She lived off welfare and didn't have a job for the whole time he lived with her. I haven't heard from her since we got custody of him, except for one time she was arrested and wanted me to throw her bail. I didn't even know about her till she was 15, and her mother was no sterling example of motherhood.

I think if I had known about her and maybe got custody, she would have been in a lot better shape. I know she is pretty much useless now.

The world's getting smaller, people get cramped up, it's easier to come in contact with idiots trough social networks. It's not like Big Brother is watching you, but everyone is watching everyone. Neutral
