Anybody installed any type of aperture sight on a Diana 54??

I think the stock sights aren't precise enough; and I'm looking for something better. I know Williams Sights offers dovetail Fool proof sights, but I think they work with a 3/8" dovetail only, not 11mm like the 54.

any help appreciated.

Hey, thanks for the link....looks like a good choice. Did you replace your front sight? and if so, with what?
thanx

Yes I used the matching globe.

But I think you could use the existing sight on the diana because its ramped.

Do you know if Diana changed their style of front sight attachment throughout the years?

I think my gun is from 1996 with a T01 trigger, and I think the newer models use a different front sight?...not sure.

What year is your 54?

Alas I am too humble and poor to own a true Diana. I have a BAM knock off underlever. But I swap that peep back and forth between it and several quest/phantoms.
I mentioned the ramp front site because I was recently drooling over a 54 and noticed the front site slides up and down on a ramp.

I think you are right about the front working with the rear aperture. I'd rather replace the front sight though, because it's a bit too fat (that is the post looks too wide)....some people have used a small needle file to file it thinner, and I may do that;but I'd prefer a new front sight (probably a globe).

My thoughts exactly. I had a local gunsmith cut the dovetail groove in the barrel for that globe sight. Surprisingly for $15 and I touched up the two cut slots with a bluing pen.
