Hi I am wondering what mods I can do to my phantom 500 .177 to give it a higher fps. I have searched around but have only found information about the .22 version.

Exact same modifications apply to the .22 as the .177- they are the same gun with a different caliber barrel.

If I were to cut the piston down(if it has the long piston and not the one with the hole) how would I cut out the trigger catch it seems to small to cut out with a dremel.

Is there anywhere I could buy a short piston and maybe spring(I am in canada)

Also what kind of fps could I get from just the short piston and what could I get from the short piston and a 1000 spring.

If you install those parts in a "detuned" rifle, you will end up with a "firearm" under Canadian law for which you need a license and for it to be registered. Purchasing the parts doesn't require any license- but if you do install them and end up with a firearm and no license- you could face some legal problems.

Thank you. I have a pal so it is all good.

Edit: Comes to $77 was not expecting that. I assume the reason there is only 3 day fed ex shipping is because of the Canada post strike?

Fedex has a funny shipping system- it basically goes by box weight- and has a minimum charge depending on the destination. The only "good" way to make this work is to order a number of things- the largest part of the shipping bill is the base rate- adding more weight only raises the shipping a couple dollars- so you can "spread" the shipping over more items, having it make more sense.

That being said- the absolute cheapest you could expect to pay for the one kit, and assuming Canada Post goes back to work, and if you are in a GST-only province, would be $56.69. Basically, ordering a repair kit by itself is not necessarily worth it.
