I decided to see what the PCP world is all about. I did the normal reading and price comparisons till I reached paralysis by over analysis. Finally I called Jim a Precision Airguns and Supply to ask a few questions about the FX Royale 400 in .177. I knew I wanted a good sized air supply and a trigger that I would not have to replace or work on. I already knew I wanted another Hawke scope as I am very pleased with the Hawke on my Weihrauch HW77. Jim fixed my up with everything I needed to get shooting in PCP. Trigger pull is 7.5 oz. It doesn’t have a definite point where you know the trigger is about to break, but just the smallest movement and it fires. I might have to do some trigger adjustment to see if I can get it tuned a little more to my liking. I have had the FX for three weeks and most days can cover the 35-40 yard groups with a nickel, but on windy days the groups might be slightly larger. I put a few rounds over the chrono and here are the results.
JSB 8.4gr Domed RWS R10 7.0gr WC

Nice looking rifle.... With those velocities, I would suggest you try heavier pellets.... 10.2-10.6 gr.... JSB Exact Heavy, H&N Baracuda, Crosman Premier Heavy.... You will benefit from better resistance to wind drift (better BC from the pellet itself and also the reduction in velocity), and likely an improvement in accuracy as well (staying out of the transonic range).... Most FT shooters (who are striving for just under 20 FPE) concentrate on those three pellets at velocities in the very high 800s to low 900s....

Thanks, Bob... I have a tin of 10.65gr. Baracudas here and will give them a try. So far the JSB 8.4gr. have been doing a good job, but I am always ready to try something new for tighter groups.

I wish I did too... I sold a NIB LE6920 that had been in the safe for a few years to fund this buy. I sell one to buy another these days.
